ブランデーグラスに葉巻の煙がかかると、甘い香りが漂い、ピンクペッパー、メントール、樟脳、ジューシーなワイルドストロベリーが中国の五香粉に漬け込まれたメドレーとなる。 桃とネクタリンの柔らかさが口中を撫で、ピノ・ノワールの赤ワインのダークチェリーがタバコやジンジャービールの芳醇な温かみと混ざり合い、リラックスした気分になる。オレンジの皮に1滴加水すると、スパイシーなお香の煙の中でゼリー菓子に姿を変えた。キャロットケーキのアイシングのように、ベルガモットの花びらとヴィンテージのポートワインを染み込ませたスポンジの上に盛られたマジパン。
A sweet fragrance filled the air as cigar smoke wafted over a brandy glass, creating a medley of oily pink peppercorns, menthol, camphor and juicy wild strawberries dipped in Chinese five spice. The softness of peaches and nectarines caressed the palate, evoking pure relaxation as the dark cherries of pinot noir red wine mingled with the tobacco and the mellow warmth of ginger beer. Singed orange skins arrived with a dash of water, morphing into jelly sweets amid a haze of spicy incense smoke. Then, like the icing on a carrot cake, we were served marzipan on a bed of sponge infused with bergamot petals and vintage port. After spending 17 years in a first fill ex-bourbon barrel this was transferred to a first fill oloroso hogshead for the remainder of its maturation.
