茶色い紙ナプキンをブランデーバターに浸していると、ファッジのかたまりと1パイントのスコッチエールをプレゼントされた。その後ラベンダー、バニラのさや、トリークルの香りが漂ってくる。バナナ・フォスターとバニラ・アイスクリームに続いてスパイスの波に息をのむ。加水すると、ハックルベリー・トフィー、ブラックカラント、蜜蝋、おがくずの香りとともに、バニラの香りが加わる。加水した味わいは、スパイスを和らげ洋ナシ、カリン、シナモンの皮、青リンゴが現れる。
As the Panellists soaked brown paper napkins in brandy butter, we were presented with chunks of fudge and a pint of Scotch ale. The aroma of lavender, vanilla pods and treacle then emerged. We'd advise being prepared for your breath to be taken away by a wave of spice, immediately preceded by bananas foster and vanilla ice cream. Introducing water offered the Panel more vanilla on the nose, along with huckleberry taffy, blackcurrants, beeswax and sawdust. Water tamed the spice, with the palate having become more oriented towards pears, quince, cinnamon bark and green apple.
