OLD PULTENEY

First Society bottling in 1988.
The most northerly distillery on the Scottish mainland is a mere dozen miles from the north coast, near Wick, and takes its name from the founder of that port. It remained in the ownership of the founding family for 94 years, and was then bought by Dewar's. Closed 1930-51, it passed to Hi ram Walker, and was sold to Inver House in 1995. The new owners have now resumed production. Its dryish malt has been called The Manzanilla of the North.
