TITLE: Beach bonfire at sundown / 夕暮れ時のビーチでの焚火
6年蒸溜のこの蒸溜所の厳選した樽を組み合わせ、様々な樽に戻して熟成させたうちの一樽。
香りは、夕暮れ時のブラッディ・マリー、焚き火で焼くホイル包みのポテトと手羽先、カスタード・タルトと葉巻がイメージに浮かぶ。焦げたヘザーの茎と綿菓子、タール、トフィー、タバコといった、都会的なスモーキーな味わい。加水した香りは、ハチミツ漬けのカリカリベーコン、炙ったパドロンペッパー、レモンタルト、ボグ・マートルとワイルドタイムのアロマ。オレンジとレモン、ヒースの蜂蜜とマシュマロ、フィニッシュにはヒッコリーで燻製にしたホットドッグ、焦がしたオークとコーヒー。
At six years of age, we combined selected casks from this distillery and then returned the single malt into a variety of casks to develop. This is one of those casks. The nose evoked bloody marys at sundown, and foil-wrapped potatoes and chicken wings cooking on the bonfire, followed by custard tarts and cigars. To taste, the smoke was evident but urbane – burnt heather stems and candyfloss sticks, tar, toffee and tobacco. The reduced nose offered honey-cured crispy bacon, seared padron peppers, lemon tart and machair aromas of bog myrtle and wild thyme. The palate became zestier – orange and lemon, heather honey and marshmallows, with a finish of hickory-smoked hot dogs, charred oak and coffee grounds.
