TITLE: While away the hours / 振り向くとそこにあるもの
［香り］まず最初にマヌカハニーと暖かいブリオッシュ。少し焦げたトースト、カシスジャム、革のタバコポーチ、クルミ、暖かくて樹脂のような新樽のスパイシーさ。背後には、キャラメル、リコリス、ヘザーの花も感じる。加水すると、若々しいデザートワインのフレッシュさ、コーヒーケーキ、シロップ漬けのジンジャー、バニラエッセンス、開けたてのシダーウッドのシガーボックスが現れる。
［味わい］口に含むとすぐに印象的なバランスの良さを感じる。滑らかでシロップのような質感、咳止め塗薬、メンソールスイーツ、トリークルトフィー、キャラメリゼしたバナナ、いくつもの層になったタバコ、オリーブオイルケーキ、アルマニャックで焼いたねっとりとしたダークフルーツ。加水すると、マヌカハニー感が戻り、ドライシトラスの皮、オレンジオイル、焼きリンゴ、レーズン、ピリッとしてウッディなスパイスを感じる。この注目すべき表現はコンチェルト麦に由来するもの。
The panels initial notes for this one included manuka honey on warm brioche. Some further notes of slightly burnt toast, then blackcurrant jam, leather tobacco pouch, walnuts and lovely, warming and resinous new oak spiciness. Behind that we also noted some caramel, liquorice and heather flowers. Reduction brought youthful dessert wine freshness, coffee cake, stem ginger in syrup, vanilla essence and freshly opened cedar wood cigar boxes. When neat the palate displayed immediate and impressive balance. Unctuous and syrupy in texture, with vapour rubs, menthol sweets, treacle toffee, caramelised banana and more layered notes of tobacco, olive oil cake and sticky dark fruits baked in Armagnac. Reduction offered a return of the manuka honey, dried citrus peels, orange oils, baked apples, raisins and peppery woody spices. This particular expression was distilled from Concerto barley.
